Nature

Many protected species have found a more or less undisturbed habitat here, so that for example in the tributaries of the river Ems, along the river Elbe and in the Oderland of Mark Brandenburg it is possible to marvel at the work of beavers.

In the dense pine forests of the Teutoburg Forest or in the Hohe Fläming you may have the good fortune to see wild deer, boars or foxes.

The central mountain range of the Harz National Park is particularly rewarding for lovers of nature and of wildlife: Lynx and fox, black woodpeckers, wrens, wild boar and red deer can all be found in these undisturbed areas.

To the east of Berlin the Rüdersdorf limestone ridge together with the open-air museum and the limestone quarry are a special geological attraction: a rocky outcrop in a region otherwise characterised by an Ice Age moraine landscape.
