Route Lithuania
Welcome to the southernmost Baltic state of Lithuania and its Western Lithuania Cycle Route (WLCR).
The Lithuanian section of the R1 follows the Lithuanian Seaside Cycle Route.
A total length of 212 kilometres allows you to pass from the southern border with Russia to the north into Latvia.
The well-developed tourist infrastructure and easy access from other parts of Europe by ferry or air, together with quality paving, sets this route apart from many in Europe.
This route can be generally divided into three sections.
-
2- day Route “The North Passage“ from Klaipeda to Palanga (~ 88km)
-
3- day Route “Curonian Spit” (~ 55km)
-
7- day Route “Three Waters by Bike” (~ 110km)
The port town of Klaipeda lies at the heart of this system of coastal bike routes.
